Position Overview
Our Client Service Representative for Employee Benefits provides benefits plan renewal support to small group clients and employee benefits account managers throughout the Western region. This is a tremendous opportunity to join a dynamic team in a growing organization, working with a diverse set of clients in multiple states.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the account management team by delivering a high volume of small group renewals to clients
- Work within agency management system to enter and update data in real time, including naming conventions and attaching required documentation
- Review renewal documents from a large variety of insurance carriers, calculate premium changes and explain contract changes
- Maintain accurate customer files and records for general reference and office use
- Resolve day-to-day customer inquiries and escalate issues related to eligibility and member claims as needed
- Develop and leverage knowledge of the insurance market and customer needs to deliver world class service to our clients
- Assist the account management team in managing the end-to-end process for customer interactions as well as carrier relationships for day-to-day customer issue resolution
- Keep management informed of customer or carrier issues
- Support the annual Open Enrollment process including other administrative tasks
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 1 year of experience in health insurance or employee benefits industry or related field
- Proficiency with MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Life & Health License (preferred), or to be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Self-motivated and driven. Maintain a sense of urgency and ability to work with and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, including the ability actively listen, and problem solve with minimal assistance.
- The ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently, and use discretion surrounding sensitive information.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude
