Office work involves working at a desk most of the time, using a stand-up/sit-down adjustable desk. Typing, grasping, and repetitive motion typically is required every day, and walking and standing are required occasionally.

Compensation
This position is located in New Jersey. The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $71,300 to $89,100. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility, and qualifications. Segment
Small to Middle Market - Contract and Commercial
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage a book of business comprised of clients with small to middle market size bond programs (commercial, express and small contract).
- Responsible for acting as the primary contact between clients and sureties. Retaining clients through customer service, which includes open, timely, and clear communication with clients, producers, and co-workers.
- Prepare submissions to carriers including applications and other relevant information following Bond department workflows. Submit to carriers after client adviser or account executive reviews and follow-up to ensure timely receipt of bond approval.
- Ability to remarket a commercial or small contract account if necessary. Request and distribute underwriting info from clients.
- Issue approved bonds within 1-2 business days and keep the client advised throughout the process from submission to approval.
- Identify problems, summarize, and develop strategic solutions with the client by incorporating the department’s procedures
- Process agency bill and direct bill renewals 60-90 days in advance.
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management systems and adherence to workflows and professional standards.
Colleague Development
- Gain access to and utilize Surety online systems that allow electronic bond approval and issuance. Take part in Surety webinars and other training outside of the agency; option to obtain P&C license to be Attorney-in-Fact on Surety Powers of Attorney.
Essential Skills/Competencies
- Maintain effective relationships with clients, co-workers and surety underwriters. Ability to work in a team environment.
- Seeks to obtain knowledge and training with regard to Surety, Epic, bond workflows and procedures and Surety online systems.
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to fill in for co-workers who are out of the office with regard to their commercial and contract bond servicing.
- Follows a well-established set of activities.
- Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure effective, timely, and efficient service delivery.
- Works to achieve stated objectives and delivers results at the direction of a lead service member. Goal of servicing larger accounts and moving up to AE role.
Experience
- Required: 1+ year's experience in Surety
Knowledge
- Required: Knowledge of Excel, Word and other MS Office products; minimal financial analysis
Professional Licenses/Education
- Must hold state Property & Casualty insurance license
- Bachelor's degree preferred; HS Diploma or equivalent and Surety experience required
