Position Summary
- Independently leads client strategy and service for large and complex clients generating, typically generating a minimum of 50k. Clients are often level-funded or self-funded and have at least 250 or more enrolled employees. Actively engages in account rounding and new business prospecting. Leads strategic conversation and planning, beyond day-to-day servicing (on such clients)
- Assigned book between $1M to $3M in EB rev.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead clients through the development of a multiyear strategic plan that includes industry leading solutions and program recommendations.
- Lead with advance knowledge and input on benefit plan design strategy, rate analysis, RFP process, carrier negotiations, and carrier contract reviews.
- Present financial story around plan performance through dashboards, benchmark, and stewardship reporting, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Develop and lead carrier and vendor implementation project plans
- Oversee development and preparation of OE/Benefit communications materials and BenAdmin Technology, where applicable
- Develop and execute Annual Service Plan; lead client touch points, track open items and deliver notes to client (includes compliance needs including 5500 filing, Medicare Part D Disclosures, Reporting, HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA)
- Engage with clients to educate on market trends, carrier and vendors solutions, EB SME and World capabilities (not just day-to-day service)
- Manage vendor/carrier performance and escalated service issues
- Finalize and deliver Stewardship report and messaging
Work Experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Advanced)
- Plan design, underwriting, funding concepts and external third-party products/solutions, beyond traditional insurance products.
- Carrier negotiations with clients with large and complex clients
- Communication/presentation skills, with the ability to present complex issues and abstract concepts with a high level of clarity and impact.
- Project planning and management around renewal. carrier implementation, open enrollment, vendor implementation, etc.
- Word, Excel and Power Point skills. Can analyze data using advance formulas, create charts and graphs, and use templates and design elements effectively.
- World EB large market / self-funded analytics tools, models, and capabilities.
People Management
- May act as Team Lead to client service delivery colleagues.
- Acts as a mentor, demonstrates leadership attributes, shares expertise. May plan, assign, monitor, and review progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results of and the work of others. May contribute to the selection, training, and evaluation of others.
Professional Licenses/Certifications
- Must hold state life and health insurance license
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but equivalent work experience would be considered
