Position Overview
This position will provide prompt, accurate and courteous claim service to customers, both internal and external, through the servicing and consultation regarding Commercial Lines Claims.
Primary Responsibilities
- Acknowledgement & reporting of claims, make assignments to companies and/or independent services, discussions with Insureds regarding coverage and processing of claims.
- Research coverage and participate in discussions with Insureds, and Producers regarding same.
- Review and negotiate reserve changes with carriers and communicate changes to insured.
- Maintain diary system relating to first- and third-party losses and claims in subrogation.
- Assist underwriting staff with claim information relating to policies.
- Prepare claims management reports as required by account size.
- Process and monitor all incoming claim documentation.
- Prepare loss analysis for clients as required by account size.
- Remain current on technological changes and software use. Attend training and seminars as necessary in effort to stay current with changes in law and industry
- Provide claim feedback re: reserves, litigation strategy, and Plan of Action to secure timely closure of claims.
- Participate in Claim Review meetings with clients. Provide claim updates to Claims Advocacy Manager as part of review.
Position Specific Skills/Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years claims advocate experience, or equivalent experience as a claims adjuster.
- Broker’s license or attainment thereof upon hire.
- Able to work independently and enjoy a high degree of interaction with team members.
- Self-motivated and driven.
