Senior FP&A Analyst

Overview
The Senior Analyst within the FP&A team will have a significant amount of exposure to senior leaders across the organization. This individual will be responsible for managing the aggregation and analysis of financial performance data, as well as providing strategic insights to divisional leaders. The Senior Analyst will oversee the dissemination of financial reports and ensure effective communication between Division leaders, Branch managers, and the FP&A team. This role requires a high level of responsibility and independent judgment in carrying out financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making processes.

Primary Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary liaison between the FP&A department, Division leaders, and Branch managers, ensuring alignment of financial goals and reporting
• Take ownership of aggregating and analyzing divisional financial performance, providing insights and recommendations based on findings
• Manage the dissemination of financial data and analysis to Division leaders on a monthly and quarterly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Lead the research and analysis of expense variances, identifying trends and making recommendations for corrective action in collaboration with Division/Branch managers
• Interpret financial data and provide detailed analysis that supports key business decisions, affecting operations and financial performance
• Apply independent judgment to formulate and implement financial practices and procedures to improve financial reporting and analysis accuracy
• Contribute to the development of financial forecasts and budgeting processes by providing detailed, actionable financial insights
• Regularly review and monitor financial data for compliance with established policies and recommend adjustments as necessary

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• 3-5 years of finance/accounting/FP&A related experience
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills
• Proficiency in Excel, including the ability to manipulate pivot tables, filter data sets, and use advanced formulas (e.g., SUMIFS, XLOOKUP)
• Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles, with the ability to extract and analyze data from financial systems/tools (e.g., NetSuite, SmartView)
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion on matters that affect business operations and financial decisions
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, demonstrating leadership and initiative.
• Ability to thrive in dynamic, highly evolving and fast paced environment, and drive process improvement in challenging and at times ambiguous situations with limited instruction or direction.

 

Compensation 

This position is located in New Jersey. The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $50,000 to $70,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility, and qualifications.
