Position Summary The Broking Specialist receives and processes submissions for business from a network of insurance agents, obtains quotes from multiple insurance carriers, and provides agents with multiple quotes based on business requirements. Develops and maintains a network of agency and/or broker relationships. Primary Responsibilities
Collaborates with Account Managers and Client Advisors in assigned division to develop coverage strategy and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business in the Middle Market segment.
In conjunction with other team members, prepare, review, and approve client-ready documentation, including proposals, analysis, and coverage comparisons, for new business opportunities and renewals.
Participate in client and prospect meetings as requested.
Negotiate with underwriters to establish best terms and conditions with respect to premiums and coverage.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with carriers that write both Middle Market and upper Middle Market P&C business.
Provide leadership, mentoring and direction to assist with growth and development of Broking Associates. Present current trends and issues to interested parties internally and externally.
Drive utilization of all available technology throughout broking process and client service process
Adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and ethical behavior in all activities.
Position Specific Skills/Qualifications Work Experience
3-5+ years’ experience in Property and Casualty with a comprehensive understanding of insurance coverages for commercial lines
Strong background in Passenger Transportation, Heavy Construction, and Complex Account Space
Alternative Risk Financing Options such as Captives, Loss Sensitive, Large Retention Insurance Program Models
Professional Licenses/Certifications
Must hold state Property & Casualty insurance license

Physical Demands & Working Conditions Office work involves working at a desk most of the time, using a stand-up/sit-down adjustable desk. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Typing, grasping, and repetitive motion typically is required every day, and walking and standing are required occasionally.
